Drastic Technologies® Adds Support For Professional Media Formats To QuickClip SD/HD Software

Toronto, ON. March 25, 2004

Drastic Technologies® today announced that uncompressed SD and HD versions of QuickClip software will now include native capture/playback support for uncompressed QuickTime MOV, Microsoft AVI, and Windows Media 9 WMV file formats. Support for these formats allows the user to capture directly to and play back from these formats as 8 bit or 10 YCbCr, 32 bit RGB and 10 bit RGB formats at high definition or standard definition resolutions.

“QuickClip software already offers a comprehensive toolset for digital media capture and playback. Including these additional formats further extends its flexibility and compatibility” says James Brooks, Development Manager DDR Technologies.

Although products such as MediaReactor allow seamless file transfer between a huge range of systems, there is still a time penalty inherent in every translation. By providing client native file formats, QuickClip's media can be directly accessed by the target applications. This provides a huge time savings and simplification of the creative process.

QuickClip software is available in two versions: QuickClip Pro and QuickClip VTR. QuickClip Pro is the full-featured standalone software package for advanced capture, control and playback. QuickClip VTR offers a subset of the features of QuickClip Pro for applications not requiring controller support.

QuickClip software versions are available for uncompressed standard and high definition using YCbCr (8/10) or RGB (32/10) format, Motion JPEG, DV/MPEG-2, uncompressed standard and high definition video hardware. Information on supported hardware and QuickClip versions can be found on the Drastic® website.
