PC - RS-422 Control Software

Sony RS-422 protocol control software for Windows 3.x or 95. Basic VTR control for play, fast forward/rewind, mark, cue and return various timecode sources and userbits. Operates through standardCOM1->COM4 only, so you will probably need an RS-232 to RS-422 converter for most VTRs. The VVCR's remote (RS-232) port may be set up for Sony protocol, and may be connected with a simple NULL modem cable.

This is an RS-232 to RS-422 conversion cable schematic. This was not designed by Drastic Technologies^® (author is unknown) so please read the disclaimer at the top of the file. The ZIP at one time included a program called RSSPY. This file should not have been distributed and has since been removed from our system.

The original Windows (3.x and 95) MCI compatible driver for Pioneer LaserDiscs and the VVCR. This is the older driver (4-12-93) and should only be used for compatibility with older programs.

This is the latest Windows (3.x and 95) MCI compatible driver for Pioneer LaserDiscs and the VVCR. Use this driver for control of LD-V2200, CLD-V2400, LD-V2800, LD-V4200, LD-V5000, LD-V8000, VDR-1000(A/P), VDR-1100(A/P) and VVCR Rev 2.0 but NOT the 6000 series. Installation instruction are for Windows 3.1. For Windows 95, the driver must be installed manually (e.g. In SYSTEM.INI: [MCI] VideoDisc=mcipionr.drv)

This is a great basic reference for NTSC test signals, measurements and standards. Discusses NTSC, PAL, RGB, Y/R-Y/B-Y and S-Video. It uses the Windows (3.1 or 95) help format and is being distributed as shareware by ItWorks.
